Fallen Hearts Pt. 3
Squeez catches her hand and brings it back to her side making her feel minute. Their relationship was once full of excitement and happiness until Tilisha got wrapped up in social media and turning into the typical and average ATL chick. It became hard for Squeez to hold conversations with her and while that seemed fixable at first, their long term goals were never aligned. Tilisha is all about materials whereas Squeez' focus is generational wealth. He may be employing strippers but his intention is to invest his profits into his passion which is his family and community. He dreams of opening up two community centers--one on either side of town that kids, adults, and senior citizens can visit for various events, spa treatments, and exercise purposes. He may have to figure some childhood drama out before actually developing these centers but thats not something that worries him. Losing out on money and being played are his fears and sadly enough, he has experienced the latter getting involved with Tilisha. Her ambitions include being a rich baby momma and having her own boutique by way of her baby daddy but to make matters worse, Squeez' potna put him on game seeing as though she threw herself on him once at the bar that everyone goes to on Saturdays.
[Squeez was in the restroom when Talim rolled in with the rest of the crew they grew up with. They ordered from their favorite bartender and settled into their usual spot. Tilisha saw Talim and started dancing, trying her hardest to draw attention to herself. Talim turned his head and continued to approach the bar to get another drink while speaking to everyone as they passed through. As he turned to go towards the lounge area, he noticed Tilisha was bent over in front of him dancing. "Don't act shy, we're both grown," Tilisha yelled over the music to Talim, giving him a seductive look as she stood back up. Talim swiped his drink from the bartender as she was placing it on the bar counter and bypassed Tilisha's attempt so quickly that he almost threw her onto her feet. Tilisha stumbled, bumping into a few people. It was obvious that she wasn't bothered by Talim's rejection--she smirked at him and drifted off into the crowd as if nothing had happened.
"Aye!" Squeez yells at Talim whose back was turned. Talim turns around to see Squeez who immediately recognizes his aggravation. "Wassup, bro," Talim says as he daps Squeez off. "You tell me, bro. Don't knock nobody's head off!" Squeez says laughing and throwing his hands up. "Nah, bro," Talim says walking with Squeez back to the lounge area. A waitress comes over, takes their drink order, and they begin catching up. Squeez could tell that Talim's mind was elsewhere as they made small talk. He wanted to ask but Talim's personality is more of the you'll find out when I'm ready for you to know type. Respecting each other's boundaries has been the secret to their friendship lasting over two decades. They've been two peas in a pod since the playground days and blood couldn't make them any closer. Squeez gave Talim the come on stare which meant Talim had to speak up. Talim decided to in that he didn't want Squeez to think they were about to have any other problems while they were out, ejoying being off and celebrating the affluence of their businesses. He takes another sip of his Hennessy before saying, "Bro, this is coming from brother to brother. You know I have your back through anything, bro but Tilisha aint it." Talim's seriousness was felt through his hard gestures towards his chest which made everything he just said even more real and urgent. Squeez already knew where Talim was going with this, he always had his suspicions about her being around his crew from day one but was overlooking them out of what he thought was love or what it should be. "She was pushing up on me when I hit the door but you know I would never expose her to the crew because thats still your girl at the end of the day," Talim says looking him in his eyes so Squeez could recognize his loyalty and genuineness. "Yeah, bro?" Squeez asked looking hurt. Talim's eyebrow confirmed, causing Squeez to stand and dismiss himself after dapping him off and thanking him. Talim knew what he was going to do by the length of their hug--"preciate it, bro," Squeez calmly tells Talim. "Already, bro," Talim affirms.]
"You fuckin' that b****, Squeez?" Tilisha yells as he turns to leave. Squeez barely shows any emotion if any at all, making her more upset. "Get back to work," he tells Tilisha making her realize he has no desire to argue with her. Tilisha can see she has pushed him to the point of no return and starts yelling about how she's going to end Kaylie but Squeez just continues to leave his office--not phased at all by Tilisha or her empty threats. He knows she is the crazy type but she has never actually done anything extreme to get his attention that would harm anyone. But that's the problem here. She has never had the threat of another female's presence so there's no telling what she's plotting. Tilisha notices Squeez' phone on his desk so she darts to grab it before leaving his office. I'ma show both of them.
"Are you ok? I know Tilisha is not taking your presence well but you should know your in good hands" Squeez says to Kaylie as he approaches her by the stage. This will be Kaylie's first performance alone. She has been training with Lala, one of the vets who is chill and fun to be around. She welcomes new girls instead of sabotaging their future at the club like Tilisha. "I'm actually in the wrong. We shouldn't have been locking hands that day so I can see why she feels aggravated by me being here," Kaylie tells Squeez as she walks up the steps leaving him dazed. "She won't be around much longer, baby," he says with a seriousness in his eyes that made Kaylie feel like she was becoming his. That's what she wants but constantly denies it to be true--she knows the moment she starts feigning for him is the moment her heart is no longer hers...it will become his. Her ability to stay safe by friend zoning Squeez is best for them both, anyway.
Kaylie approaches the pole and bends down to her toes, her body catches the beat and she begins dancing, making eye contact with the strange men watching her. Lala taught her the importance of making every man feel special as she dances. Even though she has never danced before, her flow is natural and enticing. Her body flows to the music that blasts from the speakers--she captivates every set of eyes in the building without a bit of alcohol in her system to put her in a sensuous state of mind. The bartender who has been unbothered by the dancers for years now is even in tune with Kaylie and every move her body makes. Squeez notices this as he is talking with a vendor; Kaylie distracts him and causes him to stumbles on his words. She makes him lose all thought process about his business proposal and all he can hope for is that one day all that prances in front of him will soon become his. He had been searching for the right time to leave Tilisha so maybe this is God giving him the push and motivation he needs to leave the trash in the dust as his grandma still says. He finds himself constantly yearning to interact with Kaylie, to get to know more about her, and to make her sadness and pain go away. It seems like a lights of time passes by as these thoughts race through his mind. By the time the vendor gets Squeez' attention, Tilisha has returned fully dressed, walking towards the stage. She approaches the pole and begins dancing aggressively, making it obvious that she wants the attention Kaylie is receiving. Kaylie sees this once she turns around and leaves the stage. Her absence causes a shift in the audience; men begin dispersing and congregating to talk as they refresh drinks at the bar area. Squeez notices this and goes to find Kaylie. She's sitting in a bar stool close to the locker room with her head resting on the wall behind her. He catches her in deep thought which startles her. She jumps in fear but quickly returns to her tranquility after she realizes its him.
"I'm sorry, baby," he says feeling bad about catching her off guard. "I just wanted to make sure you're good, I saw you left the floor," Squeez blurts out making his emotions show. I want to be in his arms so badly but why though? I barely know him! Squeez sees she's in deep thought so he kisses her forehead and reassures her that if she needs anything, he is there--no matter what it is. Her instinct tells her to hug him so she jumps into his arms and to her surprise, he embraces her as if she belongs there. His phone rings a few seconds into their hug causing him to break their entanglement to take the call in his office. Even though he wants Kaylie and everything that comes with having her, he knows he can't afford to be caught slipping, talking his business aloud. Now stuck in thought and smiling to herself, Kaylie gets up to go back to work the floor when she sees her ex walk through the door. Her smile quickly fades with fear and worry settles in.
I can never truly be happy she thinks to herself as she does her best to escape his vision. This all becomes more confusing as she watches Tilisha walk him to the side lounge area while handing him a roll of cash. For as long as she had been with her ex, she never Tilisha prior to working at the club nor had she ever heard her ex mention her in conversation.
I have to quit...
