No More Pizza (revision of first post)
pizza!
What about pizza?
What about pizza?
*************
Lisa was a twelve year old girl who loved pizza. She had pizza for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner. Her parents knew she was going to end up hating it one day.
But,
That day never seemed like it would come. In fact, Lisa became more addicted. She began to sneak slices of pizza on the school yard at recess. This made her like school. She never found it interesting until she discovered Mrs. Marks goes to the restroom for a total of five minutes before recess is over-- just enough time to eat two slices of pizza. Anywhere that Lisa could eat pizza was a fun place to her. So, school was fun.
"Tom, she's going to run away if we do that!"
"We don't have much of a choice, do we?"
the weekend came and left. Lisa went to school Monday. She ate pizza for breakfast, at recess, and for lunch. When she got home, the house was empty. She was too worried about eating pizza to figure out what was going on. Because her parents weren't home to monitor her portions, she ate all the pizza in the house....including the frozen pizza in the emergency-pizza-deep freezer. Now, Lisa went to go look for her parents in their bedroom. As she turned the door dob to enter, she saw a note that laid half way under the door; it was addressed to her.
Note:
Dear Lisa,
We did not want to abandon you but we had to. Your pizza addiction drove your father insane and I couldn't steal anymore. I just couldn't do it sweetheart. The house was a constant reminder of our torn family.
We'll always love you,
Mom and Dad.
Lisa immediately became saddened. She cried for three months straight. Pizza was no longer an addiction. She hated it. For years she searched for her parents. She traveled to 47 states and even one hundred and three countries. After four years, she found her parents in Dublin. They didn't recognize her because of how much she had matured. Nonetheless, they embraced her and apologized. They decided to return home for good. Things were starting to fall back into place. On the way home, Lisa's dad made a pizza stop.
"No dad, I don't want any. I hate pizza! I promised to never eat it again," Lisa said as she put her hand on her dad's shoulder. He looked at her in the rearview mirror and drove off.
